Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 to Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is part of four generations of the Robertses to live in the Atlanta area, starting in the family of her grand-father John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father had the first interest to the stage. As studying of Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus as well as in other parts of Atlanta. When he joined the Air Force In 1953, he starred in an airforce production in Biloxi along with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, the couple got married and, in 1956, their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after he left the Airforce in 1957. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the couple moved in Decatur Georgia. In 1964 Walter along with Betty Lou began production on a local Saturday morning children's television program known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was established in 1964 and lasted for six years. In 1965, they welcomed two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
